Felix Oliver schooled in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, after which he worked in Woodbridge, Suffolk as an apprentice boatbuilder, moving to the International Boatbuilding Training Center in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, Suffolk, training to be a wooden built builder.
From there he has worked on boats in England, Fox's Marina, Ipswich, Suffolk. J. Hinks & Son, Appledore, Devon, Six months in Sheppards Marina, Gibraltar, 8 years in Porto Rotondo, Sardina, Italy where he worked as a self-employed boatbuilder and restored and worked on many classic yachts, Then to France for six months in La Rochelle and six months in Douarnenez
One of the boats that was restored, 1932 Brown owl class, was involved with "Operation Dynamo" saving Soldiers from the beaches of Dunkirk.
In 2001 he came back to England and got involved with oak framing, Set up the company as Felix worked for many years as a professional wooden boat builder, restoring a number of classic boats. It is those refined and meticulous carpentry skills which makes his buildings of outstanding quality. In 2005 bought and restored a 16th century barn near Diss, for the family to live in.
